JD works very well for me.  I keep the Wifi and mobile on and it turns each off when necessary.  I agree with everyone else.  If you don't have the settings correct, it will not work properly.  I'm averaging about 30-36 hours, with normal texting, calls and using tweetdeck.

None of the apps or widgets in the market that I've tried which are supposed to be able to switch to 2G work on the Thunderbolt. I don't think its possible for us to use 2G. I believe it only works for GSM phones, not CDMA.

Here's more of a discussion about it that explains it a bit better. http://bit.ly/b2xy2R

Yea it is, all u have 2 do is turn off mobile data, and the phone switches to 2G. Whenever u c the signal bars but no 3G or 4G symbol next to it, u r using 2G. press the "+" sign on the launcher or long press the screen -> widget -> mobile network, then you can turn 3G on and off at will with a native widget, no need for an app from the market to do that.

Then you didn't configure it correctly. Tongue

False.

Go ahead and have a bad signal for a few seconds, let it fail to communicate long enough for it to drop your data and you get booted from wifi or the files you were DLing on 3g fail.

Its a headache and not worth it.  Tried all the most popular, gauged my battery life religiously for months, saw no worthwhile difference.  Use it if it makes you feel better, or if it works with the way you use your phone.

I had about 36% left at 30 hours and hammered it down to 15% in a half hour playing Lets Golf.  Using the Juice Defender new version and Ultimatejuice.

As someone else stated, this app works if you leave your phone alone in sleep mode. For me (someone who is constantly playing with their phone) it doesnt really do squat.     In my expierience anyway

JS does allow you to overlook

Ummm... wut? LOL
Jd does allow you to over clock. Sorry it auto corrected and I didn't catch it, but under the controls tab scroll all the way down and the should be a CPU setting click proceed then enable using the sliders u can set min/ max idle/ and max while active speed, pushing the max active slider up (to a max of 1190) will allow you to over clock. You must have a supported Rom/kernel.

Edit: by the way I'm using v3.2.9, also requires ultimate juice ($5.10 from market)

What makes it worthwhile for me is how I have it set to automatically turn off all data at night - I have mine set to shut off from 1 to 7 am. Love knowing if I can't or forget to plug in at night,  that I will still have the juice to wake me up, check emails and make a call first thing in the morning.

Also at work my Thunderbolt will go untouched for hours at mine time and jd helps you bit there as well.  Don't have the wifi location thing working just right yet, however.

The wifi has to go through a "training" period.  I have had JD for several weeks and it still isn't fully trained.  I have noticed that it is getting a bit better lately...

Juice defender only really works for those who have a normal to moderate usage pattern. If you use your phone constantly for web surfing games and other stuff, JD won't do anything for you but be a hassle.  Meaning that not everyone will get the same results from it.
