***After you flash, if you experience the problem of your ringtones & notifications resetting after a reboot or in general, you will have to do a factory reset. It seems to be related to the way the .9 updates over the .5 software. Some get it some don't. I never had the issue until .9 and can not find anyway to fix it in the rom & only a factory reset seems to clear up the issue***

If your phones says you are not rooted (Don't worry you still are), just download and flash this in recovery..
http://www.multiupload.com/VSWDP5ZSTD

I am not responsible for any issues you may incur, such as bricking your phone. As with all flashes, YOU FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK...

Please let me know if something doesn't work or any questions you may have. I have been running it for a few days and seems very stable and shows some improved battery life...

HOW TO INSTALL....

download the version you want & also download the newest radios (Links are listed in this thread too). Once you have both files, do the following:

Download an app called quick boot (it will make things a little easier, its free) & put the 2.6 file on the memory card, not in any folders

Flashing the rom:

1) use quickboot & go into recovery of your phone
2) once in recovery, select zip from sd card or flash from sd card (depends on which recovery your using)
3) once you found the zip file, select & flash it.
4) once your rebooted, either delete the original 2.6 zip file on the memory card or make a folder on your memory card to save it, if you need it again) *Astro File manager is a good free app for managing your memory card

It may take up to 10 minutes for the file to flash and boot back up the phone, don't panic. Also once it reboots, you will have no srvice yet because we still have to flash the radios.

Flashing the radios:

Once you downloaded the radio files, just rename the zip file to PG05IMG.zip *Thats a zero not an O (make sure its NOT named with 2 zips at the end, like this .zip.zip). It will update 3G & 4G radios.

1) Put the renamed radio file on the memory card NOT in any fiolders
2) Power off Phone
3) hold power button & volume down buttons together at the same time until phone vibrates or boots up to a white screen phone info
4) Phone will automatically search for zip file & install radios, wait till its done installing & the phone will ask if you want to reboot.

Once phone reboots, you should be fine and ready to go, Hope this helps

Since I rooted yesterday I think im gonna flash this. I did a back up- changed the name of the radio to PG05IMG.zip. Now you said to flash the rom in recovery it will not wipe data. What wipes do I need to do first if any. Is there a dalvick like on the Eris?I take it I dont need to factory reset. Thanks

Ok. Go to xda-developers.com and download radio from there. Thats where I got it from. Worked for me. Make sure its not double zip name. And its all caps PG05IMG.zip (thats a zero and an I)

Did the rom flash ok?

Here is a link for the radio I installed

Thanks Jrocker.....Yes the rom flashed ok....here is what I did.....I formatted my sd card on my computer because the Hboot kept trying to update and I couldnt get into recovery. While I was doing that I noticed the radio that I miss named was still there even though I tried to delete it so i had the same radio with two different names on my sd, Im assuming that is why it wouldnt update once i made the corrections.I got back into recovery and did a restore. I got 2.2.1 back but no radio. I rerooted with TB auto root and Im back to where I was(I was sweating this one out)Ive had enough for one day so tomorrow Im gonna try it again. I have deffinately learned from my mistakes and hope it helps someone else in the future. Sure is easy to make a mistake if your not carefull. Thanks again

Most usually say rom then radio...

Let me know if you need any further help... Also remember to download the root repair file just in case you need.

You should flash rom, the su fix file then radio...

Good luck

This Gingerbread thing that you're talking about, is it a HTC style screen for the phone or something else? I've downloaded a Gingerbread Screen for my Tbolt where it desplays my wallpaper and my apps scroll forwards and backwards to select them from the app page. Am I where you all are talking about or way off base.   Smiley

Also talking about rooting, Is there a push button root for the Tbolt or do I have to do it manually? I sure hate to do it manually since it seems so difficult yet easy to mess up the phone with.

Thanks
Herb

This Gingerbread thing that you're talking about, is it a HTC style screen for the phone or something else? I've downloaded a Gingerbread Screen for my Tbolt where it desplays my wallpaper and my apps scroll forwards and backwards to select them from the app page. Am I where you all are talking about or way off base.   Smiley

Also talking about rooting, Is there a push button root for the Tbolt or do I have to do it manually? I sure hate to do it manually since it seems so difficult yet easy to mess up the phone with.

Thanks
Herb

Gingerbread is a whole new operating system for the phone. Its like  windows on your PC. Like windows vista to windows 7. Verizon should be sending it out over the next few weeks to a month but we already got the leak from some good people.

For a real easy way to root (pretty much one click) go here http://revolutionary.io/

Download the zip file and download these drivers http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26082495/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe Info you will need

To get the Beta key

Install the drivers you downloaded then unzip the revelutionary file and extract to anywhere you want (desktop is good)
Plug in the phone to the PC  (make sure you have USB debugging checked in the phones settings)

Now run the Revolutionary utility; that will give you all the information needed to fill in the form below.
Your operating system:
Your device:
HBOOT version:  -- Please select--
Serial number:

If you cant find the phone info do this:
What Hboot Version you have -  (with phone powered off, hold power and volume down for a few seconds & the phone will boot into Hboot and you will see the version listed at the top)
Serial # - Located under the battery on the phone

Now once you get the key, run the reveutionary program again and just answer yes if you want s-off(root) Then yes to install a recovery system.
You will be rooted and can install different roms to your phone.

Also, its good to read up on root, clockwork recovery & how to install roms. You can search google for that...

Just flashed V2.1 and radio.  Looks good so far.  3G lock on is very quick.  It did not erase my data!  Whoo Hoo!  I only did dalvik wipe from FroYo to GB.  I will report on any bugs, if they arise.  Thanks J!

Anytime. Im running it and seems stable. Let me know if you have issues..
There is a new 3G radio, I just added a link. Rename it to PG05IMG.zip & Flash in Hboot

When i build the rom, i always try to set it so it wont erase data...

Thanks for trying it..

Sent from my HTC Thunderbolt...

I see its just a new 3G radio.  If I choose to flash it, do I need to flash the 4G radio you listed, too?

you only need to flash the 4g radio if you havent done it already. Both files work seperate of each other. If you dont have the latest 4G you can flash what I have listed above, if you have it just do the 3G..

J, how long have you been on this latest leak?  Long enough to tell how your battery life is?
