hello all.

i am in the market for a new phone.  i love the htc thunderbolt, however i'm somewhat concerned about the facebook app.

i don't have a facebook account, and i don't want one.  i assume that i can skip the facebook account set up when i first buy the phone.

however, since pretty much 90% of all of my gmail contacts have facebook accounts, will it pull their facebook status updates and stuff and send it to me anyway, regardless of whether i have facebook?

where does the droid get their facebook info from?  YOUR facebook information, or just based on who in your contact list has their email addresses registered at facebook?

is there a way to just delete the facebook app all together to get it completely off your phone?  thanks!

When you setup your phone, just avoid setting up the HTC Facebook for sense account and dont download or unistall the facebook app. You dont have to use it..

You can remove the facebook app, then re-add it again, it will ask you if you want to sync facebook contact, just say no.

You may also want to try this, from People, menu, view (eyeball), and turn Facebook off.
