Okay.... So I understand the difference between Facebook and Facebook HTC Sense: One runs the social networking for the phone in general, the other runs the Facebook App. Here's my problem: I am trying to link all of my contacts together, i.e. Google, Facebook, Outlook, etc.... When in People (Contacts), Facebook HTC Sense shows that I have 373 friends. Facebook App shows that I have 380 friends. I do in fact have 380 friends. To sync ALL of my contacts and gain all of the phone's functionality, I have to have both of the Facebooks checked. However, this puts 2 facebook profiles under the information for all of my contacts. It is not really a huge problem, but it is really annoying, especially for contacts for my parents because it shows 4 profile links, all their email addresses, etc..... Is there a way to: a) Make Facebook HTC Sense see ALL of my contacts or b) select which profiles you want shown under a contact's information? Thanks in advance....

Not that I really know about, if you go into your contacts and hit menu, press on the option that says view and you can check certain things that can be seen or uncheck to not see but I don't think this will totally solve your problem.
If you already did or know this, sorry i have no other ideas at the moment..

That doesn't work because you only have the option to sync contacts or not... It does not allow you to select what information from those contacts you want displayed. Thanks....

Hmm. I have more than just sync if I go into People, Menu, View. You can choose to display or not display certain address books and you can select only people with phone number. Once I did this, the phone automatically started suggesting linking "like" names and numbers. All I had to do was select them.

I am trying to remove the Facebook profile (for which I have 2 of) when a specific contact is selected.
Select one of your contacts>listed there will be two Facebook profiles (one that integrates with the phone and one that opens the Facebook app)
I want to remove the one that opens the Facebook App. But if I un-sync the Facebook App Contacts altogether, there are some contacts missing.
I think the biggest problem is that Facebook HTC Sense shows that I have less contacts than I really have. If it showed ALL of my contacts, I could just delete my Facebook App conacts altogether.

That might have sounded confusing. I only have one account that I sign into for Facebook. But when you select a contact, it shows two links for their Facebook profiles.

Odd. Sounds like you may have signed into both at one time or another (FB and FB HTC?) When you go to People, menu, view, do you see only one option for Facebook or do you see two? If two, you might want to try to turn one off...? Sorry, this is out of my range a bit...I only use the standard FB app....

There are two of them.
The issue, as stated above, is that the one that I want to use (HTC Sense) does not list ALL of my contacts. I am missing 7 of them, 2 of which I would like to link together with their existing contact info from my phonebook. So when I turn off the standard FB App, I do not get all of my contacts.

That is so odd. I would think that the two you want linked would be "auto". when I get "doubles" the phone asks me if I want to link and finds names that are the same. As for the missing folks, I just don't have any ideas. So sorry. Perhaps someone else can step in.

It does auto-link all the contacts together, but recognizes Facebook App and Facebook HTC as two separate sources, so I end up with duplicate FB profiles and phone numbers under every contact. I have currently disabled the Facebook App contacts as a temporary solution, but I am still missing those contacts.
The missing contacts are very strange. I would be curious to know if its some sort of setting on those contacts' Facebook settings. Meaning that, maybe it's a setting that they have to change, not me.

Except, obviously, the contacts that are not present on Facebook HTC Sense.

Hi, in your regular Facebook app, click, "Don't sync with contact" Now go to all apps on your phone screen, scroll down to where it says "People" click on it. Then click on the web "online directories" click on Facebook, log in, now scroll back to "all" which will be the first icon, click on which contact you want to sync with face book, on the very top to the right of your contact's name there should be a little bottom that says "google" click on it and then select "Facebook for htc sense" and your contact will be sync with face book, the only problem is you will have to do this manually for all the contacts you want. I found this to work and not having two face book contacts. Hope it works and hope I explained it well enough.

Facebook vs Facebook HTC Sense? Wow this is weird. I installed the standard Facebook App on my TB. Now I seem to remember once before I installed it being able to open a Facebook HTC Sense app. Am I wrong or did the standard Facebook app overwrite this? Its kind of annoying to have both on the phone. I uninstalled the Facebook app and couldn't find the Facebook for HTC Sense app except in ES File Explorer's app manager and it won't start.
As I see it there are two scenarios:
1. I screwed up somehow the FB for HTC Sense app and need to fix it.
2. Facebook for HTC Sense doesn't exist as an app and I need to use the standard Facebook App. I can either tell the standard app not to sync with my contacts or remove the FaceBook HTC Sense account. if I remove the HTC account I'll lose the access to Facebook pictures in the Gallery app but I use QuickPic anyway.
Tell me whats really going on here?

Facebook for Sense isn't a stand-alone app. It's used for the syncing of contacts and feeds to be used in their widgets (Facebook and FriendStream - only if using sense). I don't like Facebook for Sense because I use ADW and not Sense and I don't like Syncing my contacts/pictures. You use both if you like the syncing/widgets. I personally just use Facebook for Android.
Hope that helped.

FINALLY I KNEW HOW TO SOLVE THIS... Actually WE knew it, me and my wife went crazy because suddenly out of no where she is no longer appearing in my HTC Desire (facebook for HTC sense) contacts!
I did everything you can think of even complete RESET for my phone! But REJOICE Android HTC users, IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT.... or better say, it is NOT HTC's fault, it is because of the Privacy Settings of that friend in his/her facebook account.
He/She has activated the (Turn Off All Platform Apps) under Privacy Settings -> Apps and Websites -> Apps You Use !!!
Once the user changes their settings and you Sync, they will appear back again, but you have to re-link them
