Hi "SIN" and Khassy (and all).... With SIN's coaching.."Handbrake" worked wonderfully except the movies (once playing on my Thunderbolt) don't utilize the entire screen. there's about 1/16th of an inch border around the movie that's useable screen (not being used). Is there an easy fix? The former DVD's (now MP4s) are already inside my double twist application and, obviosuly, loaded onto my Thunderbolt.
Lastly, I downloaded and attempted to use "Format Factory" on my DRM ITUNE files but got an error message called "Failure to decode" almost immediately after beginning the decoding process. According to the "FF" website this error should have been a "fix" on their last update patch. Is there anyone else out their that has experienced this obstacle and knows a work around? I'd also be open to any other decrypting applications, even if their "pay" applications, that can help me get my DRM Itunes Movies and Music Videos into a form that Double Twist can play and transfer onto my Thunderbolt... Thanks again for your kindness to a (tech) newbie.... Joe

Khassy, About ORB - Does this mean I could theoretically watch my ITUNES Videos somehow thru ORB... My big frustration since receiving my Thunderbolt is that the Double Twist app wasn't able to convert any of the ITUNE MOVIES into anything Thunderbolt could play... Most of the postings I've come accross speak only of how to convert/decrypt a DVD into an MP4 file that Thunderbolt can play....But I need to convert ITUNES DRM Movies I already have on my computer. Any suggestions, like previously mentioned- the Format factor gave me that "Failure to Decode" error that you got too....

So it sounds like we need a WIFI connectyion to make all this happen, eh?? So ORB is still kind of like a band-aid..not a complete heal ( for me) of my problem... What I mean is that I travel ( by air) quite a bit and watching movies on my device is one of the primary motivations why I bought the thunderbolt...Obviosuly, an ORB connection while mid-flight is not going to work to well... So for me, I still need a way to take my ITUNES DRM Movies and somehow decrypt those into something the Thunderbolt will play. But for you, at least, sounds like there may have been a "Eureka!" moment !! Glad I was able to contribute something microscopic. Being a Newbie I'm sure those times will be few and far in between !!

Yea Khassy... you're right. What a "head scratcher" that the Music tracks from Itunes converted over nicely inside "Double twist" but the Movies DID NOT! How disappointing. So next question is, what applications have you heard of that can remedy my issue?? Lastly, where can we buy Movies, Music Videos and Songs for our Thunderbolt?? In case I haven't said it yet, thanks for all the input... Much Appreciated...

I have converted my movies using hand brake and winavi. I do have one question. Does any one know how to adjust the volume so it plays LOUDER on the Thunderbolt? I work on an assembly line so a lot of the times I can't hear the movies very well through my BT head phones. My music and TV on sling player I have no problems at all listening to, but movies I are harder to hear. It is just not the Thunderbolt, a lot of people using other phones are having the same problem as well. Thanks in Advance.

I just downloaded Aimersoft and I have several choices of file types to convert the itunes movies INTO?? The default setting is .ASF is this ok?? There's also several types of MP4 avail?? Any suggestions??
Edit: I've been messing with this newly installed $35.00 software and can't get it it convert anything... It's late and I'm tired...and very disappointed...I keep getting a message saying "Itunes not installed," yet there's not decrypted files showing up in the output file that the application set-up.... I'll have to contact their support desk in a few days. I'm hitting the road for a business trip.....

OK...I'm awake and re-charged.... OPened up Itunes and things converted ok, via .asf. But double twist wouldn't play it. I also tried to drop the .asf file directly onto the thunderbolt when I hooked the device up as a regular disc drive... I dropped it in the thunderbolt's "video" folder and the file showed up, yet wouldn't play. I'm now trying to convert a different file as an MP4. I didn't read your Mv4 suggestion/post quick enough... I'm trying to let this thing convert ot see what happens. I made the mistake of randomly picking the U2 concert ( 4 hours long ) to convert.. It's taking forever...

I have a silly question. After using handbrake and making the m4v file can you copy protect it? Issue i'm having is a friend wants me to add some of his movies to his thunderbolt for him and I want to ensure that they can not be copied/sold to others potentialy getting myself in trouble.

Khassy, I'm back in town now and ready to get this thing working properly now. I just downloaded Rockplayer on my Android. Does a version of Rockplayer also go onto my Laptop?? Or do i just decrypt the media with Aimersoft and drop the files onto the android like a usb drive?? Then hopefully Rockplayer will play them...??

Khassy Khassy Khassy !!! You're the bomb! My android is successfully accepting/playing my decrypted video files ( Using ROCKPLAYER). It's awesome...I owe it to you and this awesome forum...Thanks... I need just one last piece of refinement (advice)... My videos are playing inside Rockplayer with (default ) dimensions of 640*480. However, there seems to be a good 1/8th of an inch of useable screen both on the top and bottom of the movie, when it's playing. Have you run into that yourself at all or do you have an idea how I can improve that. It doesn't seem like I'm getting full advantage of androids monster 4.3inch screen. At this point I'm probably getting no bigger screen display than if I just kept using my ipod touch. Any advice?? But don't get me wrong. I'm loving the fact that I've gotten to this point. Warmest Regards!!! Joe
EDIT> I just found the options setting that utilizes the entire screen. I changed the 640*480 to "keep original size." Does anyone think that's a bad idea for any reason. I'm open to a counter-arguement-honestly? Also, not sure why this happened-maybe it's the fact I changed the file output to m4v, not sure, but the music video I downloaded was playing perfectly but the first 10 seconds of it was bad audio (skipping in and out). After 10 seconds though it was fine. Lastly, Rockplayer's control buttons ( play/stop , fast forward, rewind etc) never vanished from the screen after a few seconds of the video playing - like other players do. It became a little annoying/distracting after awhile. Is this something that I can correct? Or is this something that is better with the "pay version" of Rockplayer? Any help out there.....Bueller.....anybody??? (but at least I got the screen issue resolved I think) Thanks everyone...

I have found that you can use the preview option on handbrake to see what the video will play like and make adjustments to the cropping ect to fill the screen. Fake edit: you need to download a free program called VLC Media Player for the preview to work. It bacialy saves a clip of the video in your save folder.....oh this program will also play the m4v files. Real edit: Taken from the handbrake user guide ( http://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/HandBrakeGuide ) Cropping¶ Sometimes, movies have black lines on the sides. To get rid of the them, you crop the picture. HandBrake does this automatically. It chooses how to crop pretty well, but sometimes it doesn't catch everything. If this is the case, click the Custom cropping radio button. This will enable the 4 numerical fields below arranged in a T-shape. Each field controls the cropping for the corresponding side of the picture. The steppers increment by 2, because cropping works best with even numbers.

Moonunit! Thanks for the cropping instructions...but within the Aimersoft decrypting application there's a settings menu that allows me to select an option in the drop down box called "Keep original size." (The default was 640*480). So the video content when I played it was infact using the entire screen, so if I can avoid downloading another application or cutting out another step that serves me well. As I mentioned in my earlier post(s) I'm slightly better than "novice" on the technology front. My remaining challenge is to figure out why Rockplayer's control buttons ( play/stop , fast forward, rewind etc) never vanished from the screen after a few seconds of the video playing - like other players do. It became a little annoying/distracting after awhile to continually see the control buttons hanging there, overlayed, on top of the video. Is this something that I can do to correct that? Admittedly, I am using the "free" version of Rockplayer. I'm wondering if that's what is doing it? If I had the "pay" version would anything be different?
Lastly, I had some audio issues during the first 10 seconds or so of my video playing, and then everything smoothed out on it's own. I had used M4v as the output file type (the input type was a DRM Itunes file). Any ideas friends ( both for the control buttons staying on the screen as well as my initial audio issues at the beggining of my video?)
Thanks, Joe

If you tap the center of your screen the buttons should go away during playback. No idea about the audio but I will look into it and see if I can be of any help to ya.
