I've got an MP3 file I used on my old phone as my ring tone. I copied the file to my thunderbolt but I don't know how to set it up as my ring tone.

Any suggestions?

Check this thread: http://www.htcthunderbolt4g.com/htc-thunderbolt-4g-how-to/how-do-you-use-mp3-ringtones-instead-of-the-defaults/

It'll walk you through using your mp3. Smiley

OK here is another way. Not sure if it's easier or not but it works. Got it from another site:

-Connect your device to your PC via the Data Cable.
-On your device, drag down the Notification bar to open it and then touch the USB Icon: Select to change USB connection type.
-Select Disk Drive and touch done.
-On your PC, go to My Computer and your device will be listed as a removable disk drive.
-Open the disk drive by double clicking on it.
-Once open, you should see the contents of your SD Card.
-If you do not have a folder named Notifications, right Click and create one.
-Once you have created the Notifications folder, open it and drag and drop the files you want to be available for custom alerts into the folder.
-Once you are done, disconnect from your PC and you files will be available for selection under the Sounds & Display on your device.

Did this on my Tbolt and it worked perfectly. Hope this helps.

Did that alone work for you? I found that after some undetermined time my sounds would vanish from the list and I'd be back to the default. Just tonight I unmounted/remounted the SD card and they showed up (along with the dupes I created trying to go through the steps again). I'm thinking I'm golden now. Just curious if you had a similar issue or not.

So far so good. Haven't had them disappear yet. Hope they stay for you now.

Interesting. I followed the same steps and mine disappeared 3 times. Go figure!

To select that MP3 as a Ringtone select that tone and then go in Options and select set as a Ringtone. I hope this info will help you.
