I didn't do anything at all but today my phone started acting buggy. When I unlock my phone, the screen turns white and the HTC logo pops up for about a second and then my settings and apps load (takes a few seconds) but it happens sporadically too when I jump from app to app.

Needless to say, very annoying. Somebody please help me.

Pull the battery for 30 sec. It should fix it. If not, then funk of the last apps you installed, one of them could be the problem

Ok. So far so good. I pulled the battery and just turned my phone back on. Been running it thought the wringer and so far it's been working HTC screen-free.

these smartphones are like little computers, from time to time you got to turn them off... or they will build up the cache and run slow.

I'm sad to report that the problem persists. I've not installed anything new recently or even downloaded anything.

This sucks. Frankly......I'm almost debating unrooting just to eliminate these random headaches.

I rooted using unrevoked and am running the previous version of Fresh. Has been working flawlessly the last few months. No reason it should be having problems now. I bought Lockbot from the market and was still fine until today.

Um.......ok.

It has been working fine until just today so unless you care to expand on your thought, I fail to understand what you mean.

In any case, I did a nandroid backup and then deleted everything from the cache and did a factory wipe and restore to see if it helped.

........it did not.

I agree with Roblin. Go back and do a full wipe and reflash the rom.
More information really is needed to help pin point problem. You posted this

Hello friends. Just wanted to reach out and see if anybody had any suggestions for me.  I rooted my phone a while back (a million thanks to ThunderWagon, sorry if misspelled, and the ever talented Khassy for directing me to the appropriate links) and I went with the Fresh ROM (wanted 4G), Kings Kernel 11 CFS and Riptide's Clear Theme.

I saw that the ROM came with an automatic updater and decided I would give it a whirl. I downloaded it and flashed the update. It got stuck in a bootloop and I ended up having to pull the battery. I tried turning my Thunderbolt on again and it kept loading the boot screen (where it says Fresh) but then it never loaded the ROM. Eventually I got it to load and I was able to reflash the Kernel (not sure if I needed to or not) but it would not let me install any themes.

Does anybody know if there was some kind of bug with the newer version of Fresh?  I was using Juice Defender and I noticed that after I started using it, my phone kept rebooting every time I unlocked the phone or tried to go from app to app (like Pandora to text messaging)

Ultimately, I had to recover back to the earlier version of Fresh and I haven't bothered updating it since. Now I'm just going to wait until there is a completely solid version of the Gingerbread ROM.

I suggested not using the updaters, flashing manually is better. Roblin also mentioned

Did you flash the new Radio,Wimax,PRI and NV for the Rom? If not here it is http://bit.ly/elKLWA.

If you went with an updated version of Fresh or any rom for that matter based on the new version (3.7) and you havent flashed the new radios and whatnot, you Will have issues.
Time to do some back tracking Batman.
Flash updates. Then you can flash udated version of Fresh.
Also, when you make a recovery, its best to have a stable recovery. Not one you are having issues with...

Everytime I come here for help, I love this site more and more.

Thank you all for the tips and pointers.

I checked and found that I'm running Fresh build 3.4.  It is my understanding that the newest version is build 3.5 based on the new HTC update.  As has become my modus operandi.......I have a question to pose.

-Can I flash the new radios, PRL and whatnot that were made for 3.5 to my existing 3.4 rom? (I can sense a resounding "no" but I figured I'd ask)

Update on the boot screen issue.....

I took the advice I was given and downloaded Watchdog.  I had also recently deleted an app I didn't think I needed and have since reinstalled it.  I believe it's called AutoKiller Memory Optimizer.  Between Watchdog and Autokiller it appears that my phone is back to being bugless.  I doubt anybody really cares too much but I will post an update later as to whether my phone issue was completely resolved.

To those that were suggesting I completely clear my phone out and start over.......I have done that before and to be honest......I don't really mind having to set up my phone all over again but my only real preference is for the theme on my phone. While I like the setup of Fresh on it's own........I like Riptide's Clear theme and it seems the theme won't work with the newer Fresh ROM. Call me crazy to care so much about something so minor but.......we like Android because we can make it our own, right?

Khassy, thank you for the heads up.

I'm an advocate of the same belief. However, it's my understanding that the app I'm referring to merely optimizes memory. It doesn't actually autokill any apps.

Sorry Roblin.....did you mean there are 2 different versions of Fresh or of the radios and such?

In any case......as long as my phone continues bugfree......I think I'll keep it the way it is.  I went ahead and did a PRL and Profile update and thus far have been ok.
