Does anyone know how to do free tethering on the HTC Thunderbolt yet?

I've been using an app call pdanet, it's awesome and doesn't need to root the device (i have samsung fascinate)

I am not sure it will work on the htc thunderbolt, I have emailed pdanet admins and haven't hear back.

I am fairly certain that it will work because it is for Android (not just phone specific)...I think. For non-rooted folks it is the way to go for sure.

Not freaking soon enough! Not up for delivery until Monday. Long story. I have to purchase online. Hoping that FedEx will perform some sort of miracle and get it to me earlier. Did I mention how much I love FedEx! Wink

It worked. I was able to connect and surf after installing the HTC sync for the tb

It has native mobile hot spot, which is a free promotion. You can sync upto 8 devices on wifi. I, enjoy it, but don't need it.

Just beware: on May 15, a $20 charge, extra, per month will be added to your bill. My VZW rep said to call around the 15th and say that you don't want it.

If you root your phone go to the android marketplace and download a app called wifi tether.  It a free app and it works great for me
