So has anyone noticed any battery life changes since the update? As far as I can tell (just looking on the web) there was no battery life fix with this update however after installing the update and then following it with a factory reset I've had crazy good battery. Or maybe I should say crazy good as far as a Thunderbolt is concerned. Smiley At any rate, instead of the 3 hours I normally get I've been on battery for about 8 hours now and it shows only half used. I find this puzzling. So was there something in the update or did I accidentally do something to make this happen? This is with 4G enabled the whole time.

After the factory reset you may not have re installed all apps, or the apps could have been updated to more battery saving features. Not sure, but it's awesome. Why question it! Grin hah

Sure I don't have some of the apps installed that I had before but none of them had background data or anything like that. Also before I was constantly killing wireless, G4and GPS to ring every last bit of life out of it and I haven't done any of that yet.

I'm not complaining. As long as it stays this way I'm okay with the mystery. But if it should happen to quit beahving like this and goes back to the short battery life I'd really like to know what the difference was so I could replicate it, you know?

There was a battery fix in the new update, just not listed as a battery fix because it was multiple things that were done that made things less taxing on the battery.

better transition between 3g/4g
updated radio which handled communication with the cell towers better
cell tower software was updated

and a bunch of other tweaks that weren't listed. Plus all the things the PDF did list

Thanks for clearing that up. That makes a lot more sense.
