Howdy!
I just purchased a certified pre owned Thunderbolt from VZW online.  It arrive this morning.  I happily unpacked it and fired it up (on the charger).  I played around and customized for a couple of hours, keeping it on the charger until the batter was at 100%.  As soon as I removed it from the charger, my happiness disappeared.   Cry  While on battery, if the screen goes off, either time out, or pushing the top button, it will NOT come back on.  The only solution is to pull the battery and reboot.  It also decided to turn itself on at one point.
I called VZW tech support and explained the problem and that I had only had it out of the box for about 4 hours.  The first technician couldn't help and moved me to a 2nd level technician.  He asked if it started after installing a particular app, etc.  He eventually had me do a complete reset (hard) of the phone.  Still no luck in resolving the issue.
We decided it was best just to replace the unit with another one.  It should be here Thursday.

I've also seen this screen twice.

I hope phone number 2 is a better experience than this one.  I'm pretty sure I will enjoy it.
 Huh?

Welcome aboard. SO sorry about your experience. I know how hard it is to overcome a first impression. Give the second phone a chance. Sounds like some major issues with the first. I promise, once you get the phone that works right, you are going to love it. Hang in there.

Thanks, Droidman.  I'm sure I will, too.  I just hope I didn't make a poor decision by going with a CPO.  They tech folks were very puzzled by this phone's behavior.  I'm stuck with it until tomorrow.  They said if I reactivate my Eris, it will kill my current SIM card and I will have to get a new one.  (He said its not a big deal to get a new one and won't cost me anything.  I'll just have to wait in the queue at the VZW store to get one and he didn't want me to have to go through that headache.   wink)
This one does work find, so long as I keep it plugged in, or don't let the screen timeout/turn off while on battery.  I guess I'll carry a charger with me every where I go today.   Cool

I received my replacement on Thursday afternoon.  They did not send anything but a phone.  I had to use my battery, SD, and SIM from the original.
In the mean time, I had reactivated my Eris.  I was told that if I did, I would have to get a new SIM card.  I was then told by another CS rep that I wouldn't have to get a new SIM card, just pull the old one.  Long story-short...old SIM wouldn't activate and I had to go to the local VZW store and wait for 30 minutes for a sales rep to get me a new SIM card.
Since then, I've been rockin' the TB!  The only issue now, is random re-boots.  I took a 12 hour drive yesterday listening to Pandora and using Navigation and it was beautiful (despite 3 random reboots).
C'mon update!

(Please understand that I'm coming from the Eris, so being able to use Pandora and Navigation at the same time for that long is amazing.   Tongue)

Thunderbolt is awesome. I love using navigation and still being able to do other things without losing navigation.
